Men of the Church

The Presbyterian Men, led by Dr. David Bradham, meet in the fellowship hall at 8:30 AM on the first Sunday of the month. Each meeting includes breakfast and a program presented by either a member or a guest from the community. In addition to fellowship, the Presbyterian Men seek to serve Christ through service projects in the community and, also, through efforts to help maintain the church grounds.

Women of the Church

Presbyterian Women contribute greatly to the congregational life of First Presbyterian Church!

Three Circles meet monthly for Bible study and fellowship. Each circle reaches out to shut-ins, who receive regular visits, cards, and special remembrances at Christmas, Easter and other times during the year. Ordinarily, the PW have two general meetings when all circles come together for a meal and for the enjoyment of a program presented by a guest speaker.

The Presbyterian Women set up, decorate, and serve meals at the church on Rally Day and for the Christmas Joy Dinner. Additionally, the women of the church provide meals for families of those members of the church who have died. Also, Thanksgiving baskets are provided for residents of the community who have special needs, Valentine boxes are sent to college students and those in the military; and the PW help fund the annual Senior High banquet.

In May, women of the church join other Presbyterian Women in the United States by collecting a Birthday offering that is used to help meet the needs of various community organizations.

The Sanctuary Guild is under the auspices of the PW. Participants in the Guild help keep the sanctuary clean for worship services.

The historian of the Presbyterian Women is responsible for the provision of an annual historical summary of the organization’s activities for the previous year; and she, along with the publicity chairperson, keeps the hall bulletin board up-to-date with current newspaper clippings/photographs of church members and their various community activities.

Organization and maintenance of the kitchen’s equipment and, also, of the church parlor is an important facet of the work of PW.

When a child is baptized, the Presbyterian Women present him or her with a Bible.

The Perky Presbies

The Perky Presbies of the Presbyterian Church of Dunn is designed to give the seniors of our church and the community an opportunity to meet with Christian friends for food, fun, and fellowship. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 11:30 a.m. Some meetings are in restaurants, and some are at the church in the fellowship hall with the lunch catered or prepared by members of the church. We often have speakers and musicians who provide inspiration, information, and laughs. If you would like to join us, please call the church office or 910-897-6906.
